My name is Nick Beaman and I am 23 years old. I currently live in Jacksonville but grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida. When I was about 14 years old, I became interested in 3-D art when I began working with clay. Soon after my interest developed, I visited an exhibit that featured the work of the famous glass artist, Chihuly. After witnessing what one can do to manipulate glass, I knew that that is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I love using various colors and techniques to make magnificent pieces of art.
I have participated in many shows and have also received awards. In 2008, my glass piece was accepted into the 8th Annual Tactile Art Show in St. Augustine. A year later, I returned to St. Augustine where I received third place in the Fall Members Show at the St. Augustine Art Association. Jacksonville University, where I am currently a student, recently nominated my piece, “The Feline”, first place in 3-D art.
